Santa Fe EMS
The Santa Fe City EMS Fire Department provides emergency medical services to City of Santa Fe Residents. Beginning in 2005, Health Front has provided medical directorship for the program. The central responsibility is to ensure that emergency medical service (EMS) personnel provide quality care to patients before they are transferred to hospital or other medical facility. The director ensures that quality treatment care protocols are developed and implemented, and that EMS personnel are adequately trained. In this role, the medical director approves training standards and assists with regional trainings for EMS personnel.
The medical director is also responsible for reviewing the program's quality assurance/improvement plan, which includes evaluating care services, investigating medical-related complaints, evaluating personnel, and reviewing compliance with regulations regarding pre-hospital care. The medical director provides guidance regarding drugs, skills, and medical procedures used by EMS personnel. Health Front physician Dr. Jeremy Olsen currently serves as the programs medical director.
