Pecos Valley Ambulance Service
The Pecos Valley Medical Center (PVMC) serves residents and others in the rural Pecos Valley. The Center's Ambulance Services provide emergency response throughout a 1,000 square mile region of this rural community. The service also provides medical support at local events, such as rodeos, and collaborates with the local school system on emergency preparedness.
The medical director for the ambulance services at PVMC oversees operations to ensure that patients receive high-quality, timely, and appropriate care at the scene of the emergency and while en-route to a hospital or other medical center. The medical director also assists this community by evaluating the overall effectiveness of the service, ensuring that emergency medical personnel are trained as appropriate to their level of service, and that the ambulance service complies with governing laws and regulations for emergency and ambulance services. Health Front physician Dr. Edgar Billowitz has been involved with the ambulance service for over 30 years and serves as the current medical director.
